Easter Week

Easter Week

For about a month now, the Lord has been preparing my heart for the week leading up to Easter.  He has been speaking to me about fasting the week leading up to Resurrection Sunday. I know my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and I know that He died so that I could live. I want my entire temple holy and pleasing to the Lord.  My temple includes my thought life, my actions, reactions, what I eat  and drink, what I wear, what products I put in and on my body… it is my entire being! My being consists of my body physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally.

I will be doing a fast and cleanse April 1-8. My Easter week will consist of:

  • Spending time with the Lord- reading, meditating on His word, praying, worshiping, singing, dancing, all unto HIM
  • Water water water- of course with my essential oils (I will vary lemon, grapefruit, citrus fresh and spearmint in my water) to further cleanse, detoxify, and eliminate free radicals in my body.
  • Liquid diet- primarily water, but plan to be juicing and making smoothies
  • Exercising- sticking to my normal routine.  5:30am boot camp and running with my partner
  • Daily Scripture Reading and Easter activities with my children

My week will be different in the fact that I am fasting (liquid diet). It is mainly for spiritual purposes, yet, I know that when you fast as unto the Lord, you will also benefit physically, mentally and emotionally.

Fun Easter Activities with the Kids:

  • Craft ideas for the week. A favorite past time is using the Resurrection Eggs and opening up each egg and showing what each symbol represents. Fun, powerful way to present the Gospel.  The crafts below are very simple, self explanatory… just look at the photos and you can make them with your kids.

For this Easter Cross craft, supplies needed are yarn, popsickle sticks, beads, and glue.

Another easy fun craft is to make an Easter bunny from a pot. Supplies needed are small potting plant, pink paint, construction paper for ears, wiggly eyes, white pipe cleaner, small pom pom for nose, black marker, green grass and Easter eggs.

Easter bunny craftVerses to Ponder Easter Week:

  • “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” John 11:25-26
  • “But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.”  Acts 2:24
  • Read this week Mark Ch. 14, 15, and 16 aloud

Hey Kelli! They are such a fun, simply, easy craft! Preston made them to give to his grandparents and cousins! :) Cameron opted out of making the craft this year :( So, we took turns reading Scripture while Preston enjoyed the craft! Happy Easter!!! HUGS!
