Ways to treat your body as a temple

Your Body is a Temple

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body,” (1 Cor. 6:19-20).

Your Body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

In the beginning God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it.They will be yours for food. I give every green plant for food.” (Genesis 1:27-31).  In the beginning God created the earth and everything in it and it was good. He created man and said to fill the earth and subdue it. The word subdue means to take dominion! That is a powerful statement. We, as God’s children have been given a mandate to subdue the earth. We are the head, not the tail. All of this was God’s heart, creation, intent, before the fall. This is God’s will-what he created, in the beginning.

I believe God is calling his children to get back to His heart, His original creation, His best for us. He created everything we need. I am passionate about God’s heart and His will for our life. I believe if we take this and apply it, we will see sickness, disease, and many other life issues disappear.  His word does not lie. God is our breath of life. He is our sustenance. He is our daily bread. He is our living hope. He is our daily drink-our living water.

A few ways to treat your body as a temple

  • read God’s word- this can feed your temple many ways!
  • eat a healthy diet consisting of proteins, complex carbohydrates, raw fruits and vegetables
  • avoid sodas as much as possible (or all together) – not good for your temple- especially diet soda! Do NOT drink diet soda!
  • avoid white sugar as much as possible
  • avoid anything “white”… white bread, white flour, white sugar
  • consider what you put “on” your body… lotions, creams, makeup, etc.  What goes “on” your body, goes “in” your body, as it seeps through your pores. Remember, your body is a temple!
  • consider what you put “in” your body in terms of over the counter medicines… why not think of a healthy, all natural alternative? Think of how your organs are being affected by all of the synthetic drugs?  There are many ways to helps those ailments, naturally!  I use essential oils!
  • get plenty of exercise – walk, jog, jump rope, climb stairs, ride your bike, swim
  • drink water – goal is to drink half your body weight daily
  • get adequate sleep
  • watch your words – speak positive, loving, encouraging words!
  • pay attention to your thoughts – adjust accordingly

Your body is the temple of God

Be careful where it goes. Be careful what it does. Be careful what it ponders. Be careful how it reacts.

Do you recall singing and teaching this song to your children?

O be careful little eyes what you see

O be careful little eyes what you see

There’s a Father up above

And He’s looking down in love

So, be careful little eyes what you see

O be careful little ears what you hear

O be careful little ears what you hear

There’s a Father up above

And He’s looking down in love

So, be careful little ears what you hear

O be careful little hands what you do

O be careful little hands what you do

There’s a Father up above

And He’s looking down in love

So, be careful little hands what you do

O be careful little feet where you go

O be careful little feet where you go

There’s a Father up above

And He’s looking down in love

So, be careful little feet where you go

O be careful little mouth what you say

O be careful little mouth what you say

There’s a Father up above

And He’s looking down in love

So, be careful little mouth what you say

“Be careful little eyes what you see… be careful little ears what you hear? be careful little feet where you go?… for the Father up above is looking down in love, so be careful little eyes/ears/feet where you go.

“Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching.  My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him” (John 14:23).

Our bodies, our temple, house the living God!

We are HIS temple! We, therefore, should house Him well. We should think about what we eat and drink and what we say and do. We must feed our temple well. We must feed ourselves on the Word of God and we must house Him well with what we put in and on our bodies. Sickness and disease plague or bodies when we are not lined up with heaven. Sickness plagues us when our emotions, thoughts do not line up with the Word of God. Sickness plagues us when we eat foods that are full of sugar, are highly processed and full of additives and preservatives. Sickness plagues us when we eat fast food, drink sodas, and our diets consist of white/enriched flour and white sugar. Most foods on our shelves are highly processed, enriched with preservatives, chemicals, and additives. They are full of white sugar. These are toxins and our bodies are sick because of what we are eating.

Have you ever noticed if someone is diagnosed with cancer, one of the first things they do is change their diet. They will stop eating white sugar and stop drinking sodas (diet or regular). They will stop eating white bread, enriched processed  foods and starting eating WHOLE foods. They will begin a RAW rood diet. Many will even change their product line and will purchase all natural shampoo, lotion, toothpaste, etc.  I find this very interesting, don’t you?  It speaks volumes to me.

So, my question is why wait? Do it now! Don’t wait until you are sick and are plagued with illness. Make the changes today. Are you ready to eat and drink for the glory of God? Are you ready to make a change? If so, I am here to help you! I am here to see you healthy and whole from the inside out. I want to house my temple well and I hope you will join me on this journey.

I speak a blessing over you and I pray this blesses and encourages you to dig deeper into the Word of God and to feed your temple well.
